Cowie Capital is an investor in several early-stage companies, and typically participates in pre-seed or seed round investments. Many of our firm’s investments have focused on real estate, investing, or real estate related companies, but we have diversified beyond real estate investing in software, hospitality, and logistics.
Bolt Logistics
Cowie Capital was a seed rounder investor in Second Closet in 2018, which later became Bolt Logistics. In 2021, Bolt raised an additional $115 Million which will allow the company to expand further in the U.S. and Canada. The company started as an alternative to option to physical self storage, with “white glove” service including pickup and delivery of items. Today, Bolt is a integrated logistics company focused on last mile delivery and using software to optimize complete deliveries and returns.
Float Technologies Inc.
Cowie Capital was a seed rounder investor in Journal Inc, which became Float Technologies Inc. in 2021. The company closed a Series A round of $30 Million in 2021. Float provides corporate credit cards with automatic expense reconciliation, allowing companies to control spending, reduce time spent on reconciling credit cards expenses, and earn cashback on their corporate cards.
Flashfood Inc.
Flashfood is an app-based marketplace striving to eliminate retail food waste by connecting consumers with discounted food nearing its best-by date. The mobile app operates in over 1,600 grocery locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Shoppers can buy items from grocery retailers through the Flashfood app and pick them up in-store at great prices while collectively reducing food waste. To date, Flashfood has diverted over 65 million pounds of food, saved shoppers over $175 million and more affordably fed hundreds of thousands of families.
Pluribus Technologies
Pluribus Technologies is a company dedicated to acquiring and enhancing smaller profitable B2B software companies for current owners that are looking for an exit or succession plan. Pluribus provides liquidity to these owners and businesses and leverages the extensive operation experience of their founders to support company growth.
