Pickering City Centre

The Pickering City Centre, which  includes a 700,000 square foot enclosed shopping centre, and a 120,000 sq ft office tower has been rebranded  “The Shops at Pickering City Centre.” The project is part of a large  55-acre redevelopment project led by Centre Court Developments, Cowie Capital Partners Inc. and Salthill Capital.

The redevelopment plans include over 6,000 new residential condo units across 10 new high-rise towers ranging from 40 to 55 storeys. The existing mall and 120,000 square foot office building will be integrated into the new mixed-use community, which will feature parks, amenities, and improved pedestrian connectivity.

Here are some key highlights of the Shops at Pickering City Centre redevelopment:

  • A total area of 3.6 million square feet at project completion, across residential, retail, and office components
  • Located adjacent to Pickering City Hall, the public library, and recreation centre
  • The site has direct access to the Pickering GO Station via a pedestrian bridge
  • Designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects with focus on walkability and community spaces
  • Amenities including a 20,000 sq ft fitness centre, rooftop pool, virtual medical clinic

The project aims to create a new downtown core for the rapidly growing City of Pickering and transforming the existing shopping centre site into a high-density, transit-oriented, mixed-use community.
