Michael Cowie

Michael Cowie is a Founding Principal of Cowie Capital Partners and Executive Vice President of Colliers International Toronto . Mike has a long history of success for clients in his care through decades of real estate cycles since 1980. Along with his brother, Mark Cowie, Mike co-founded Cowie Capital Partners Inc. to act as a platform for operating and co-investing in value add real estate projects at home in Canada, and abroad. Cowie Capital’s stable operating portfolio acts as a source of cashflow for more complex, high risk developments and joint venture projects which Mike and Mark actively oversee daily. Mike’s experience includes successful negotiations in transactions in millions of square feet of office leasing and significant equity acquisitions and depositions on behalf of co-investment groups and other institutional investors. Mike has experience with all asset classes including land development, industrial, residential, retirement and private equity investments in health care, technology and others.

Mark Cowie

Mark Cowie is a Founding Principal at Cowie Capital Partners Inc. and a former Executive Vice President and early principal at Colliers International and its predecessor firm in Toronto, Leasco Realty. Mark has completed over 250 million square feet of office and industrial leasing and investments transactions in his 40 years in the industry. Along with his brother Mike Cowie, Mark co-founded Cowie Capital Partners to act as a platform for operating and co-investing in value-add real estate projects in Canada and abroad. The long and diversified experience of negotiations, acquisitions, re-positioning and dispositions have provided Mark and Mike with a unique set of skills to tackle value add projects across a myriad of asset classes. Mark’s experience includes negotiation on behalf of a range of corporate and industrial clients and proactively identifying challenges and solutions throughout the process. Mark has specialized in investment syndication, co-investment, construction management and equity sourcing for deep and diversified pool of assets including office, retail, self storage, hotel and high rise residential condominiums.

Mark is recognized as a leader in the Toronto commercial real estate community. And attended Richard Ivey School of Administration, University of Western Ontario Business School (H.B.A.), 1980.
